Campus pics

The Administration building of the university. It looks like the Hilton hotel in Prague, and is almost as big.

Buildings for the Departments of Social Science and International Affairs (edited by Lenka :). Almost every department has its own building of similar size.

This ugly concrete bunker is actually the NCCU gym. Football / rugby field in the foreground.

Arts center

You might think this is one of Taipei's prisons, but in fact, it's the girls dormitory - notice the barbed wire on the fence. They are taking the separation of sexes very seriously. I guess they are worried about guys trying to storm the building.

Muzha / Wenshan. A neighborhood adjacent to the university. These are typical Taiwanese residential buildings.

A view in the other direction. The large building on the right belong to the university.

On the way from the main campus area to the dorms, one has excellent views of the Taipei 101 popping out behind the hills. Especially impressive at night.

I can never understand how can someone play basketball in 30+ degrees, when the sun is shining.. The local students are totally content with that though.

Outside the university - a typical back alley in the neighborhoods of Taipei.

Just outside the main gate. Every street in the city looks like this - the ground level is shops and restaurants, no unused spaces. The locals live on the streets, sort of - sitting outside their shops, chatting, eating, doing their work.. (that includes cooking, repairing mattresses, washing the dishes etc.
